Twenty years of making brands sound right.

Işıl Öztemel is an Istanbul-based Turkish language lead, copywriter and creative director with more than 20 years in advertising, transcreation and localization.

Trained as a copywriter at Ogilvy Istanbul (2005–2011), Işıl went on to cofound Superbeta, spent eight years as Senior Copywriter and Creative Strategist at Ideascop and, alongside it, took on projects with Cheil Worldwide Istanbul and ’74STUDIO. Throughout, Işıl has translated freelance since 2003, and today leads Turkish transcreation and localization for international LSPs, creative agencies and brand teams, on brands including Nike, PlayStation, Apple, Hilton, Amazon and Starbucks.

Işıl is the cofounder and Creative Director of D5 Square (formerly Democracy 5.0), a global civic-tech platform, leading its brand identity, website and UX copy, social and campaign content, the Dimo mascot and AI-assisted content automation. Işıl also hosts the Muhteşem 13. Yüzyıl podcast and created its brand identity and social media.
